Let’s build a more inclusive society together

The month of May marks European Diversity Month across the EU. We’re calling on companies and organisations across Europe to join forces with us, the European Commission, to shine a spotlight on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in society by organising events and activities throughout May.

Thousands of EU-based companies and organisations in different sectors and of different sizes are actively enhancing inclusion and belonging in their workplaces. They are thus contributing to a Union of Equality, where everyone is valued and appreciated for who they are. Diversity and inclusion policies in the workplace can also help organisations, employers and workers, embrace the opportunities of a changing world of work, spurred by the demographic, green and technological transitions.

Embracing the future of work through inclusion and diversity

In an era marked by constant change, European organisations need to adapt swiftly to ensure success. Diversity and inclusion are indispensable values for fostering innovation but also for cultivating a resilient workplace prepared to navigate the challenges we all face and overcome pressing contemporary issues such as:

Bridging skills gaps by fostering an inclusive culture that encourages continuous learning, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge among diverse individuals

This is your organisation’s chance to take a stand and promote diversity and inclusion. Organise activities or events during the month of May: promote your company’s diversity and inclusion policies to staff at workshops or on social media with #EUDiversityMonth for example. Why not use this month as a springboard to develop new initiatives to take your company forward?
